Devon Aire K-8 PTSA

Dear Devon Aire Families,

Welcome to the 2009 – 2010 school year at Devon Aire K-8 Center.  I hope everyone had a restful summer vacation and that you were able to spend some quality time with your children.  The Devon Aire K-8 PTSA Board is returning fully recharged and ready to work.  I am very thankful to work with such a dedicated group of parent volunteers who give their time to further the education of all Devon Aire Children.  We are also very excited about the upcoming year and to work with our new principal Mr. Irwin Adler. 

I am constantly asked by parents how they can help our school, and my response always begins with; “Have you joined the PTSA”.  The first thing we should all do is join the PTSA.  Membership is open to all parents, teachers, students, grandparents and community members.  I ask that each of you fill out the enclosed forms and return them to the school as soon as possible.  Once a member, I encourage everyone to become a volunteer.  By completing the enclosed volunteer form, you will be issued a volunteer number which permits you to actively assist in classroom activities.  Volunteering can be as simple as reading to your child’s class.  I guarantee you will not find a better investment of your time than to volunteer in your child’s class.  Along with membership and volunteering, the backbone of our PTSA is fundraising.  We have very ambitious plans for this year that will benefit every child.  These plans are not possible without your fundraising participation.  This year the PTSA will provide awards, classroom supplies, club sponsorship and educational programs.  These items are needed for a well rounded educational experience and will not happen without the fundraising activities of the PTSA.

The next few weeks will be very busy with the launch of our Fall Fundraiser, our first PTSA General Meeting and Open House (all dates will be announced shortly).  I look forward to seeing familiar faces and to meeting new ones.  I am here to serve you and am available by phone: 305-793-7936 and by e-mail hpwvale@aol.com.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding Devon Aire and the PTSA.
